HOMEMADE BONE BROTH
Homemade bone broth is a staple in my diet and it is so easy to make. You can sip it, use it for soup, or use it to steam food. It’s rich in collagen, amino acids, and minerals, making it a great addition to your diet. Bone broth has been known to help heal the gut lining and support healthy hair. Here is a quick and easy recipe using a slow cooker.
InGREDIENTS
2-3 pounds of grass fed meat or pasture raised poultry bones
10-12 cups of filtered water
4-5 cups of veggies and herbs
2 tsp of salt
2 bay leaves
DIRECTIONS
If bones are raw roast them at 400°F for 15 minutes. If they are not, skip this step.
Add roasted bones to the slow cooker with water, veggies, herbs, bay leaves, and salt. I personally love to add carrot tops, celery, fennel, onions, and garlic!
Slow cook on low for 18-22 hours (the longer, the better!).
Strain, bottle, and enjoy the nourishing goodness!
